Albertus Magnus College
September 5th, 2008Albertus Magnus College is a private liberal arts college, a rather small one, which is located in New Heaven, Connecticut. It is situated in two kilometers from the main campus of Yale University and borders with Hamden. Its neighborhood is Prospect Street behind the Edgerton Park. Albertus Magnus College occupies several mansions of the architecture of the 19th century. For example, Rosary Hall is a library of Albertus Magnus College.
In 1985, Albertus Magnus College became a co-educational institutions in all the programs presented. Pioneering Accelerated Degree Program reached the walls of the college the same year.
In 1989, the Cosgrove, Marcus, Messer Athletic Center was opened. It is a center for the sports training which provides the students with swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor track, courts for racquetball and volleyball, weight and dance rooms, modern fitness center.
In 1992, the first graduate program was offered – the Master of Arts in liberal Studies. Lately the following graduate programs were added to the curriculum of college – Master of Science in Management, Master of Arts in Art Therapy, Master of Business Administration.
In 1994, New Dimensions were introduced by the college. It was an alternative delivery system focusing on business for adults.
In June 2005, Albertus Magnus College earned the approval from the State of Connecticut for a new degree – Master of Arts and Leadership.
