Graduate Study in the USA

April 16th, 2008

At US universities the deadline varies from November 30th to August 15th. If you begin the process too late, you can find an institute that suggests your area of study and is ready to choose your application.

US universities get hundreds of applications every year, that’s why deadlines are fixed and you must assure that the test results, recommendations and application form have got to the university before the fixed date

If you are not native English speaker, you will be advised to take the TOEFL exam. If you are following a graduate degree in the Sciences and Arts, you will also be advised to take the GRE); if you are following a graduate degree in a business area, you will be advised to take the GMAT; for medicine it is the MCAT and for Law it is the LSAT.

Until the universities get your mark report from the ETS, they will not consider your application full. Since it includes between 2 months for your scores to be reported, and since lots of departments and schools have January - February deadlines, you should conduct all tests one year before your planned date of study.
