Diploma Programs in the USA
April 16th, 2008Though certificate or diploma programs are gaining popularity, lots of people still don’t understand how they work and what they are.
These programs are groups of classes concentrating on both practice and theory in a specific area. Under a certificate program, a student will focus his studies in a particular area.
The certificate or diploma programs are suggested in many cases by the School of Continuing Education (Extension Department).
Some programs are planned essentially for a local public but enrollments are open to foreign participants. They are likely to have a majority of local inhabitants and the lessons are proposed in the evening and on weekends.
Other certificate programs are designed mostly for international students. In this case, lots of the participators are non-Americans and lessons are planned every day during the week.
Often the major demand for admission is perfect knowledge of the English language. Some universities use TOEFL scores as a demand, others – as a mention.
Other demands may contain elementary knowledge of a particular field and some preceding work experience.
The programs let you gain international experience, new skills and some work experience in a short period of time.
